Dear Resident,

As you likely are aware, we have received a significant amount of rainfall in only a few days, and the ground is saturated.  The NWS has reported that our area received more than 5 inches of rainfall between September 10 and 12, with approximately 2 inches falling in less than one hour on September 11th.  This extreme rainfall temporarily overwhelmed stormwater systems throughout our community and left debris on storm drains.

Engineering is investigating reported issues and Public Works is clearing as many storm drains as possible before the next wave of rain comes through.

If you see an issue on your street, please report it to Public Works at 732 536-9295.  Public Works is addressing those areas with known drainage and flooding issues during and after each event. The reality, however, is that with 200+ miles of roadways to cover, Public Works may not get to every location before more storms roll in.  If you notice an abundance of material has collected on a storm drain, if you are able, please do what you can to clear the debris.

The Police may be reached 24/7 at 732 536-0100.  For emergencies, please dial 911.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.  As we always do, together, we will weather these storms.
