Zoning Permits

Fence Permits

1. First, review Section 220-95 in the Township Code Book: 220-95 Fences
2. Please review the department’s permit requirements (Flat Patio, Driveway, Fence and Shed (up to 200 sq. ft.) Zoning Permit Requirements)
3. If you have not already done so, please sign up for an account on Marlboro Township’s SDL Portal at the link below (SDL Account Instructions)
4. Once logged in to the SDL Portal, choose Requests, and start a Fence Application using the “Start a Zoning Application button” (How to Start an online Zoning Application)

Flat Patio & Walkways Permits

1. First, please review the department’s permit requirements (Flat Patio, Driveway, Fence and Shed (up to 200 sq. ft.) Zoning Permit Requirements)
2. If you have not already done so, please sign up for an account on Marlboro Township’s SDL Portal at the link below (SDL Account Instructions)
3. Once logged in to the SDL Portal, choose Requests, and start a Flat Patio Application using the “Start a Zoning Application button” (How to Start an online Zoning Application)

Shed Permits 200SF and Under

1. First, review Section 220-95 in the Township Code Book: 220-140E(2)
2. Please review the department’s permit requirements (Flat Patio, Driveway, Fence and Shed (up to 200 sq. ft.) Zoning Permit Requirements)
3. If you have not already done so, please sign up for an account on Marlboro Township’s SDL Portal at the link below (SDL Account Instructions)
4. Once logged in to the SDL Portal, choose Requests, and start a Shed Application using the “Start a Zoning Application button” (How to Start an online Zoning Application)

Driveways and Driveway Extensions

1. First please read the department’s permit requirements: Flat Patio, Driveway, Fence and Shed (up to 200 sq. ft.) Zoning Permit Requirements
2. If you have not already done so, please sign up for an account on Marlboro Township’s SDL Portal at the link below (SDL Account Instructions)
3. Once logged in to the SDL Portal, choose Requests, and start a Driveway/Extension Application using the “Start a Zoning Application button” (How to Start an online Zoning Application)
4. After reviewing the above, click here to start a permit: https://www.sdlportal.com/towns/nj/monmouth/marlborotwp
5. Any driveway change that will make the driveway larger than the original size, will also need Engineering approval. The Engineering Driveway form must be filled out and submitted with a $150.00 Inspection fee.
