Weekend Update – Independence Day Edition

Farmers Market OPEN Sunday

Dear Resident,

June flew by and July 4th weekend is here.  As we celebrate the anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, Chief Pezzullo reminds you to celebrate safely.  Please review his message below.   

Please save July 10 for our summer concert and fireworks.  This fantastic, free community event features a concert with music by Motor City Revue, food trucks and fireworks at dusk. Bring a chair/blanket to sit on and join us as the fun begins at 7:30.  See the FLYER HERE.    

The Marlboro Farmers Market will be open on Sunday, July 3 from 9am until 1pm.  Located on Route 520, just west of Route 79, everything for your summer BBQ is available.  Produce, pickles, dips, guacamole, spirits, beer, and more.  Blueberry season is here are we are pleased to welcome Chesterfield Organic Markets and their crop of blueberries.  Follow our social media pages for updates and details, or check us out on our website Marlboro Farmers Market

PUBLIC SAFETY & ROAD WORK/CONSTRUCTION

Chief Pezzullo and the Division of Public Safety remind residents to celebrate responsibly. Please remember that aerial fireworks are illegal in NJ.  Take a moment to review the NJ Consumer Affairs Fireworks safety information.  And, of course, always designate a driver. 

Road Construction Notices – The nighttime road construction and detour on Route 79 will continue as per the prior notice HERE, however note that no construction will take place over the July 4 holiday weekend.  Notice of road construction is sent via email and posted on the township website.  To review road work notices including my announcement of a $35mm 7-year road construction program please visit the Breaking News section of the road construction webpage HERE.

Take the Safety Pledge – Thank you to the residents who already took the pledge. If you took the pledge and your sign was not yet delivered, send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..   If you have not yet taken the pledge, please click HERE and complete the on-line form.  Continue to lock your car, remove your key fob and keep valuables that are left in your car out of sight.  The 'See Something, Say Something and We Will Do Something' initiative continues to be effective and I thank all residents for your support and cooperation.  Please do not hesitate. If you see something suspicious or out of place, call the police.

PROGRAMS AND EVENTS

Marlboro Swim Club –School is out and the swim club opens full time this weekend.  Want a tour or ready to join? Visit the swim club during open hour.  The Swim Club offers a swim team, water aerobics, family fun nights, swim lessons and more.  Don’t fight traffic and spend time searching for parking…enjoy a summer get-a-way moments from home. Marlboro Day – Our 38th annual Marlboro Day will be held on Sunday, September 18 from 12PM-5PM.  Don’t miss out! If you want to be an event sponsor or a vendor/table, click HERE for more.

Recycling Collections – From time to time schedule adjustments must be made.  Notices are sent email and social media and posted on the website homepage.   As per the recycling calendar, if your recycling is not picked up, leave your bin curbside and send an email with your address to This email address is being protected from spambots. PUBLIC NOTICES

COVID-19 Ratepayer Relief Measures –Measures are in place to provide relief to ratepayers experiencing economic hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The NJ Department of Community Affairs has developed a low income household water assistance program.  Please review the letter from the Marlboro Water Utility HERE.

As we enjoy this holiday weekend, we remind you to review flag etiquette HERE and inspect your flag for signs of damage. Flags that are to be retired may be brought to the flag disposal box in Town Hall or at the Marlboro Fire House and Boy Scout Troop 86 to arrange a will arrange a proper disposal.
