Weekend Update – Spring Break/Holiday Edition

Dear Resident,

As we near the end of the official Public Safety Telecommunications Week I want to take this opportunity to thank our thirteen Marlboro Dispatchers, led by Supervisor Carren Boyce. They staff our call center 24/7 and are the first voice you hear in your time of need.  Last year, they answered more than 33,000 calls, not including calls that did not generate an incident report.  This past week, in addition a Mayoral Proclamation HERE, we enjoyed sharing some of the Dispatchers’ photos and stories on social media.  Please join me in thanking Marlboro’s Communications Team for being the unseen backbone of emergency services…the first, first responders.

PUBLIC SAFETY

Safety Message and Vacation House Checks - Please review the letter on ways to keep your home, vehicle and family safe.  If you are going away for spring break, consider requesting a Vacation Safety check. Tell a neighbor you will be away so they can be on the lookout for suspicious behavior.  Please remember if you ‘See Something. Say Something. We Will Do Something’. The link to the vacation check form and other safety tips HERE.

Lock Your Cars, Hide Valuables, Take Key Fobs – Please help keep Marlboro safe.  Read more about the expanded ‘See Something. Say Something. We Will Do Something’ HERE.

Zoning Office Message on Property Maintenance – As we enter spring and begin cleanup, the Zoning Office details code requirements for property maintenance and how to report a vacant home in your neighborhood before it becomes unsightly.  Please see the Zoning letter HERE.

Bulk Collection/Spring Cleanup – This annual collection begins at the end of April by zone. We ask residents to be a good neighbor and not place items curbside until after Easter/Passover weekend so that the streets are clean and safe and residents have places for their guests to park. The schedule, regulations and more can be found in the recycling calendar HERE.   For more, please see BRUSH FLYER and BULK FLYER

Recycling Center –The recycling center is open year round Mondays and Wednesday from 8am to 1:30pm and Saturdays 8am to 4pm. Schedule adjustments due to holidays are noted on the calendar.  Lawn debris, recycling, and electronics may be brought to the Recycling Center; no permit or fee.  Bulk items require a free permit available on line HERE.

Pothole Portal – The portal is on the home page of the website ‘Quick Links & Actions’ and HERE. Only one Marlboro SDL account is needed for all on-line services.  This efficient method of reporting allows our residents who drive our streets every day to direct resources where they are needed.
