Weekend Update 

Dear Resident,

We anxiously await spring and the opening of our Marlboro Farmers Market but, we are pleased that some of our vendors offer their products off-season through a combination of storefronts, delivery, local drop off and shipping. If you are missing your favorite Farmers Market items, please review my letter sent earlier this week and posted HERE.

RECREATION 

Recreational Seasonal Job Opportunities – The Recreation & Swim Utility has openings for facility supervisors (age 18 and up) and 2022 summer employment (application due January 31) Please click HERE for more.   

Winter Recreation Programs – Registration is underway for winter programs and spring soccer registration.  Please review the program letter from Recreation HERE. Registration for all programs is on Community Pass HERE.     

PUBLIC WORKS 

Curbside Collection– DPW bagged leaf and Christmas tree collection will be complete at the end of this week.  Brush pickup begins by zone in February.  To prevent icing, flooding, and issues with snow removal, do not place brush for collection more than one week prior to your scheduled pickup date.  The calendar is posted on line and linked HERE. We expect the calendar to be mailed to your home by the end of the month. Our apologies for the delay.  

Recycling Center – The recycling center is open year round Mondays and Wednesday from 8am to 1:30pm and Saturdays 8am to 4pm. Schedule adjustments due to holidays are noted on the calendar.  Lawn debris, recycling, and electronics may be brought to the Recycling Center; no permit or fee.  Bulk items require a free permit available on line HERE

PROPERTY TAXES 

First Quarter Property Taxes – Please see the message from the Tax Collector that first quarter property taxes must be received by Thursday, February 10th to avoid interest which is calculated from February 1, 2022. The Tax Collector’s office will have extended hours on Thursday, February 10th from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm. A drop box is located in the vestibule of Town Hall and is available 24/7. All payments left in the drop box by 8:00 pm on February 10th will be credited that day and will not be subject to interest. Read the Tax Collector’s letter HERE.

COVID UPDATE 

Marlboro COVID Testing Truck is open Tuesdays and Saturdays at the Marlboro Swim Club parking lot. Changes to the scheduled dates will be posted on the Township website.  No appointments are needed however pre-registration is strongly encouraged by QR Code or link on the flyer linked HERE and posted on the home page of the Township website.

If you have not received your results 72 hours after testing and have checked your spam folder call 888-355-0635. Please do not call the Township or the County as we do not have access to your results. 

At Home Tests – We suggest that you place an order for the free tests now so that they are in your home when you need them. 

  • NJ Department of Health in cooperation with Vault offers a free at home PCR salvia test kit.To learn more and order your kit visit Vault Testing HERE. 
  • The Federal Government will send four free rapid antigen tests to every family. Visit www.covidtests.gov to place your order.   
  • Federal Government Requires At-Home Tests to be Covered by Insurance - Beginning January 15, 2022, the Federal Government will require health plans to either directly cover or reimburse at home COVID tests purchased at a pharmacy or on-line.  MORE HERE.

Free Public Testing - Free public testing is available at locations including Federally Qualified Health Centers throughout the state.  Click HERE for more.  

COVID Booster/Vaccinations –

Scheduling a vaccine appointment (first or second dose) or a booster/third dose:

  • Review booster shot/third dose guidelines
  • Marlboro Medical Arts Pharmacy (479 Route 520) has all three vaccines available. Schedule an appointment on their website. 
  • Monmouth County Health Department holds vaccine and testing clinics throughout the County.  Visit their website HERE.
  • Other vaccine locations throughout the state can be found HERE.

Monmouth County Health Department App – Download the free app available for both Apple and Android devices to receive timely information for clinics, health and emergency preparedness.   

COVID-19 Ratepayer Relief Measures – Please see prior email updates for assistance providing relief to ratepayers experiencing economic hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic. More can be found on my prior update HERE.   Please review the letter from the Marlboro Water Utility HERE. 

Winter means an increased chance of severe storms and, in addition to emails, we often post on social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Nextdoor as well as the SWIFT 911 police emergency system.  Please visit Resident Communications and register for as many options as possible to ensure we have a variety of ways to be in touch, especially important in times of emergency.
