Weekend Update

Dear Resident,

Daylight Savings Time begins Sunday, March 14.  Remember to turn your clocks ahead one hour before bed Saturday night.  Daylight Savings Time serves as a home fire safety reminder.  Our fire officials suggest that residents use this opportunity to inspect smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors and make sure a family escape plan is in place.  For more visit International Association of Fire Fighters.

BRUSH COLLECTION – Curbside brush collection, postponed due to snow covered roads, has resumed by zone.  It is one week behind the schedule printed in the recycling calendar.  Please do not put brush in the streets but on your property near the curb to avoid blocking water flow to the sewers.  Brush must be placed curbside by 7am of your first pickup day. Once the truck has passed they will not return and the brush must be removed by a contractor or brought to the recycling center.  For dates and regulations, please review the letter HERE.

SUMMER CAMP UPDATE - At this time we are excited to be moving forward to a “healthier” new normal, but we are not quite there yet as we are still waiting on state guidance and safety protocols regarding summer camps.  That being said, we are pleased to announce that we are hard at work making sure that we will be offering some type of summer program for our community.  Our camp will not look like it has in previous summers with traditional trips off-site on buses, but we will be offering a program that will be safe and fun for our campers.  There will be no Travel, Theater, before or after care offered this summer. Registration will be open to Marlboro residents grades K-6, on a first come first serve basis, as space will be very limited. We know everyone is anxious to finalize summer plans and we are eager to see our campers this summer! Look for more coming soon.

MARLBORO SWIM CLUB – Summer memberships open now! Meet your neighbors and make new friends.  FLYER for programs and pricing.

MARLBORO RECREATION PROGRAMS – Programs for all ages as we head into spring.  Soccer, Marlboro Swim Club, Town wide Scavenger Hunt, Scrambled Eggstravaganza and programs for our seniors.  Click HERE for a list of programs and a link to register.

MARLBORO POTHOLE PORTAL – Spring thaw is pothole season throughout the northeast and we remind residents that our Pothole Portal is on our website throughout the year.  By entering the complaint directly it allows for an even more efficient response and allows residents who drive our streets every day to help direct resources to those areas most in need.  The Pothole Portal is a part of our SDL system and you need register only one time to access our many on-line services.  The link to the Pothole Portal can be found on the ‘Quick Links & Actions’ section of the Township throughout the year and linked HERE. ALTICE/OPTIMUM BPU PUBLIC HEARING – In response to complaints from my office and other municipalities, the BPU is holding a public hearing on March 16 at 10am. Instructions to participate, view and submit comments are detailed in the BPU notice HERE.  The public is invited to submit written comments until March 23 at 5pm.

FEDERAL REAL ID UPDATE – After being delayed a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the REAL ID deadline is now October 1, 2021.  The REAL ID Act was enacted after the September 11, 2001 terror attacks to require better secure identification for domestic travel. You are not required to get a REAL ID, however, starting October 1, 2021, if you typically use your driver license or non-driver ID (instead of a passport or other form of ID) to fly within the U.S. you probably want a REAL ID. The Standard New Jersey driver license can still be used for driving. REAL IDs are available from the NJ MVC.  For more visit https://www.nj.gov/mvc/realid/

COVID-19 TESTING IN MARLBORO: The COVID-19 testing truck remains at the Recreation Center Parking lot. The March schedule is Sundays 9-3 and Wednesdays 1-7.  The testing is done via saliva test, you do not have to be symptomatic and results are emailed in 72 hours. Please review the flyer for dates/times, the QR code to pre-register and what is needed to expedite the process.  There are no out-of-pocket costs for the test.
