Planting trees is one of the easiest and most powerful things you can do to have a positive impact on the environment. Trees clean the air, prevent rainwater runoff, help you save energy and even combat global warming. Plans for a Marlboro Arboretum began in 2018. Several mature trees had already been planted in the area, thanks to Marlboro Township’s donation of a new tree each year to celebrate Arbor Day. These trees, white pin oaks, plus the donation of two lindens by a member of the Shade Tree Committee, were planted in an Open Space area adjacent to the Marlboro Community Garden. They inspired the idea of planting other trees in that area, which at that time was merely a large grassy field.  Read more in our BROCHURE

Marlboro Township has achieved “Tree City USA” community status annually since 2008, meeting the high standards to earn this honor with an active tree board, a tree-care ordinance, a community forestry program and an annual Arbor Day observance. The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the USDA Forest Service. MARLBORO COMMUNITY GARDEN
The Marlboro Shade Tree Committee launched the Community Garden in 2016, and it has been a huge success ever since. Gardeners work their own garden plots gaining valuable knowledge and experience as well as the produce of the season. The Marlboro Community Garden has contributed hundreds of pounds of fresh produce yearly for local donation.
